Review: Makeup Revolution Radiance Palette

Highlight. It’s everywhere you look at the moment. Whatever you want to call it; highlighting, strobing, hyper strobing and now chroming, we’re all about spreading sparkly shit all over our faces. Now, I do love a good glow, but I’m not always all about blinding all of those around me. This is why I wanted to talk about this palette, the Makeup Revolution Radiance Palette.

Makeup Revolution Radiance Palette

First up, let’s see what Makeup Revolution have to say about this:

Our RADIANCE palette is here! ‘Take Instant RADIANCE Everywhere You Go”

When this palette was announced, I admired it but wasn’t actually going to buy it. But then I made the mistake of swatching it whilst wandering around Superdrug, and I fell in love. The first thing that drew me in is how beautifully soft these are to the touch. I often find if I dip my finger into a highlighter, they can feel a little grainy due to the high volume of glitter. You don’t get any of that with these illuminators. These powders are very finely milled and glitter free. You get a little sparkle, but these provide more of a sheen for that ‘glowing from within’ look.

Breathe is the subtlest of all the illuminators. It’s a soft champagne with a subtle sheen. It’s nicely pigmented, but not too dark for my very fair skin. I like to dust this all over my face with my No7 Powder Brush for an all over healthy glow, especially when I’m using a full coverage base. I have very dry skin, so I don’t possess that natural radiance, but this provides that very nicely.IMG_0809[1]Exhale

Exhale is the perfect highlight shade for fair girls. It’s a light champagne with a pearl sheen. This has become my most used everyday highlight for the top of my cheekbones, cupids bow and other high points. There is a little bit more sparkle to this one, but it’s very, very subtle. I’d say this is the most obvious highlight out of all of these. However, I wouldn’t necessarily recommend this one to anyone with a darker than tan skin tone. I feel like this could look ashy on dark skin, so definitely swatch this one before purchasing.

Glow is a beautiful golden bronze highlighter with a golden shimmer. This gives a lovely sun-kissed glow. I couldn’t use this as a highlighter as I am far too fair, however a light sweeping of this over bronzer is stunning. This would be beautiful on tan and darker tones.

Overall, I don’t think I can find any negatives with this palette. As per usual Makeup Revolution knocked it out of the park with this product. Plus, if you can only see yourself using one of these shades, they are sold individually for £5 each which you can find here or here.

So, what are your thoughts on this palette? Have you tried it, and did you love it? If not, what’s your favourite highlighter? Tell me in the comments!

Until next time, Kim xo

    1. Hello Susana, sorry for the delay. No, this palette contains very subtle highlights, more of a soft sheen than a glitter. The more bronze shade has a little fine glitter in it but usually doesn’t show on the skin. I hope that helps 🙂
