Review: Freedom Makeup Pro Highlight Palette

Today I’m bringing you another highlighting palette, this time it’s from Makeup Revolution’s sister brand, Freedom Makeup London. The Pro Highlight Palette features 8 highlighters, 6 of which are a cream-to-powder formula, and the other two are baked powders. This is definitely a palette for those of us that love a good glow, and don’t necessarily want to be subtle about it.

Freedom Pro Highlight Palette
Available from Freedom Online or Superdrug* (online & in-store)

Cream Highlight & Baked Perfection in one palette. Containing 6 ‘Crème’ super-smooth highlighters and 2 baked illuminators within a sleek mirrored compact – Freedom’s website.

Isn’t that just satisfying to look at? There is a shade here for every skin tone. Whatever your skin tone, or your undertone, there’s an option here for you. For that reason, I feel this will be a great highlighting palette for working makeup artists as it covers all the highlighters you’ll ever need in one handy palette, rather than having to cart around 5 different palettes. Plus, Freedom do have a pro discount programme, so if you have the relevant credentials, get your savings on!

The creams are nice to work with. They’re easy to blend and you can control just how much product goes on the face. For a high impact glow, you can pack the cream on, and for a subtler look they easily sheer down. I personally like to apply these with a blending sponge, as I feel I don’t get the right pay off with my fingers. I haven’t used a brush with these, but if you do, make sure it’s a synthetic brush as real hair brushes aren’t suitable for cream products.

The baked powders are also very nice to work with. I find the peach one a little too dark for me, but will look stunning on tan to dark skins. They are finely milled and non glittery. I really enjoy layering the white cream highlight with the white baked highlight when I want to blind everyone around me. They work really well together to provide that strobed effect that we’re seeing all over the fashion mags and instagram at the moment.

Bottom to top; White cream highlight, white cream highlight with red/pink reflects, silver cream highlight, white baked powder highlight.

Bottom to top; Peach baked highight, peachy gold cream highlight with silver glitters, soft rose cream highlight, golden cream highlght with silver glitters.

So, what do you think of the Freedom Pro Highlight palette? Do you already have it? Do you love it? If you don’t have it, do you need it? Come and tell me in the comments!

Much love, Kim xo
